These are some photos kindly supplied by Phil Ingle - my first outing last season. Some excellent snow for the time of year and good conditions on the arete made my first ski decent of it a lot easier than I had anticipated |
Heading round to the first pitch. |
Nine turns and its time to put the skins on for another pitch. |
And I thought I had trouble going in a straight line - Phil put it down to the drink rather than poor trail breaking... |
Back on the ridge looking down at Chamonix Phil got this great shot of his favourite skyline in the shadows on the valley. The left hand shadow peak is the Aiguille du Midi, followed by the Plan, Blaitiere and the Charmoz. |
And another pitch done. That little sluff above me built up quite a bit and chased me out of there. |
You can see the wind starting to build up over the Tacul on our skin back home. |
And here it was howling. |
Climbing back up the arete, the town below now in sunlight |
Back in town looking up at the wind that has built up on the tops. |
