Oh yes. This was posted about fifty yards in front of Chateau Lake Louise - the lake side trail being one of those highlighted and obviously popular with your not so back country hardcore... |
The first time I stood here was towards the end of the summer, nine years ago. Beautiful at any time of year - sure my Mum and sister will have some photos from the middle of the '96 winter - when you can take a sled ride across the lake and check out the ice sculptures. |
On the lakeside trail, looking back towards the Chateau. You can see the Lake Louise ski area behind. Looking pretty white - but not much base there yet. If its cold enough they have the snow makers on from mid October - their opening day is advertised as the 6th of November. |
A nice piece of rock. Up close I could make out some interesting bolted routes - sure I'll be back in the spring. Overhangs looked a bit daunting though!! |
Really need to upgrade my camera - all too big to fit in... |
More like a Christmas shot than late October. |
I can just imagine the shots you could take on a calm morning. |
But then do you need to get up that early? |
